Hello there

BT48.com is a web and Dev company operating out of Derry City. We are just finishing off some jobs in Derry, Belfast and Dublin and will be available for new projects in the New Year around February. As for our own site here it always gets pushed down the list due to other work but we will be adding to it on an ongoing basis.

Google+ for newcomers...

Google+ is Google’s much talked about and hyped new social networking site. It could be loosely described as a mixture of Facebook, Twitter and a blog but with the option to send updates to pre-arranged groups (circles).

This has the advantage of selecting content for specified groups - something that facebook regulars have been yearning for. Those pictures of you 'worse for wear' on that night out can be put up on a friends only circle keeping your work colleagues & family out of that particular loop.

Drupal Commerce - The Need To Clone

Recently we've begun working with Drupal 7 on an e-commerce site and obviously I suppose we decided that Drupal Commerce was the way to go. On previous Drupal 6 sites we've used Ubercart and whilst we really liked using it thought that the fact that Commerce uses entities for its content types made more sense from a developers point of view. With entities we dont get the overhead of fields/funtionality that we don't necessarily need i.e.

Steps 2 Creativity Award

BT48.com, along with Student Francis Byrne & Grafton Recruitment won the Northern Ireland Steps to Creativity Project 2010 Award at the Steps to Creativity Programme, part of the Showcase Conference at University of Ulster, Magee Campus. Steps to Creativity helped 10 traditional companies around Northern Ireland to identify a digital creative project related to their business activity which would benefit from exposure to creative sector expertise. Each business received mentoring from a creative industries professional to help with the project. Full time support from a creative industry student, paid by the programme, was also provided to implement the digital project within an eight-week period from July to September 2010. The programme was funded through the Arts Council for Northern Ireland’s creative industries innovation fund and managed by the Northern Ireland Business and Innovation Centre (NORIBIC).
