Google+ for newcomers...

Google+ is Google’s much talked about and hyped new social networking site. It could be loosely described as a mixture of Facebook, Twitter and a blog but with the option to send updates to pre-arranged groups (circles).

This has the advantage of selecting content for specified groups - something that facebook regulars have been yearning for. Those pictures of you 'worse for wear' on that night out can be put up on a friends only circle keeping your work colleagues & family out of that particular loop.

The main functionality can be broken down into 3 main options:

1) Post to 1 circle: This is similiar to a Twitter post - can only be seen by selected followers.

2) Post to multiple circles:  Facebook  Wll post / status - can be seen by all friends

3) Post to public = A standard blog - can be seen by anyone
